Living in earthquake-prone Northern California poses certain challenges to over-the-bed decor. Anything framed with glass is definitely out. Shelving with books? Totally out. On my quest to transform the vast expanse of naked wall over our bed I’ve become kind of obsessed with the idea of decals. Wall decals, iPhone decals, Macbook decals, I’m tempted to plaster them on everything. There are some really smart and quirky designs out there! I particularly adore this whimsical owl & moon design by Lim Heng Swee for Threadless, reinterpreted by Blik.

The Owl & The Moon
This next one by Jean-Sébastien Deheeger completely cracks me up. I could see this in a nursery with a serious sense of humor:

A Birth Day
This Etsy store, Home Decal, has some really delicate and lovely designs:

Winter Trees

Birds in Birch Forest
Love this riff on Magritte’s The Son of Man by The Apple Tailor for the MacBook:

The Son of Apple

The Son of Apple in a Cafe
Or, how about turning your iPhone into a Polaroid or Leica old-school style camera?? I know this one has been blogged to death but I’m still a devoted fan:

Polaroid Land Camera (Or is it...??)

Polaroid iPhone Decal

Leica iPhone Decal
Honestly, I could keep going all night… 😉
