Cave of Forgotten Dreams

A new film from Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man, Encounters at the End of the World) coming out in 3D April 29th. In this documentary he explores the nearly inaccessible Chauvet Cave in France, home to some of the earliest artwork ever created by humanity (over 30,000 years old). The thing that struck me the most (and I just can’t seem to get out of my head) are the drawings of the lions. These are not simple stick figures, these are drawings with real power and beauty and intensity. That tell us something about who we are. Simply amazing and awe-inspiring. Cannot wait for this to come out…
